Day one:
WHERE: departs New York (La Guardia) at 7:59am.
-arrives in Buffalo NY 9:20am
-from there, daniel takes a bus trip across to Niagra Falls (ticket can be bought at the site, giving Daniel time to stop for food or look around a bit
-Once in Niagra Falls, he will be staying at the Best Western Fireside, within walking distance of major attractions
WHAT: Make a video about journeys, transportation, dislocation, confusion. This one is all about departures and arrivals.
TECHNICAL RESTRICTION: Tell the story out of order. No voice over, no overlaid text.
Day two:
WHERE: Niagra Falls
WHAT: What is it like to be a child at Niagra Falls? Children are your audience. Show us from a child's point of view.
TECHNICAL RESTRICTION: Only use existing sound and footage. No music in the background. Sorry, no overlaid text or voice overs here, either.
Day three:
WHERE: departs Niagra Falls 5:45pm
-arrives in Toronto at 7:42pm
-meets up with Kevin Hampson, who he will stay with (Kensington Market)
WHAT: Film any and all liquid that is NOT Niagra Falls.
TECHNICAL RESTRICTION: Cut must include the usage of the number 7 in some way
Day four:
WHERE: Toronto
WHAT: Can only shoot footage within a 50 pace radius of Kevin's house. Show us the neighbourhood. Sit on the stoop. Interact with the locals.
TECHNICAL RESTRICTION: You (Daniel) are not allowed to hold the camera. You must get Kevin (or others) to hold it for you and shoot what you want.
Day five:
WHERE: departs Toronto 11:30am
-arrives in Montreal at 5:07pm
-accomodations still to be determined
WHAT: Talk to a stranger at a table in the café car. If there is no café car, then shoot in the seats. Film the conversation you have.
TECHNICAL RESTRICTION: Black and white
Day six:
WHERE: Montreal
WHAT: Trick us into believing that you are a local. Tell us a story about your history.
TECHNICAL RESTRICTION: Keep the camera moving. Nothing static. Wide shots only. Speak French with subtitles as necessary.
Day seven:
WHERE: August 13th - departs Montreal 9:45am
-switches planes in Philadephia
-arrives New York at 2:52
WHAT: Film yourself, this time, on your last day of travel. Wrap it up. Discuss it all.
TECHNICAL RESTRICTION: You are only allowed to make 5 cuts today. You have to talk into the camera. You must use the
phrase "I believe bologna is good for you".
