Jay: "I suggest she use the pop-up maker so people can view it on IE".
Jay: "from my experience....make sure the text is SUPER CLEAR about what its
all about. short and simple. her video really expands on her
idea....so you want to make sure a person clicks on the video knowing
what its all about. no mysteries. "Maria will interview 12 people
(colombian and amercian) about ......
Starting Oct __, she will post one video a week for 12 weeks. Her
project needs $1500 which will be used to buy a mic, pay for travel,
and editing time. Her goal is _________" this is extremely
simplistic...but I think its helpful to spell things out."
Ryanne: "he video looks good except the data rate is huge! (which
is why a 3 min video is 53MB but should be like 15-20MB) it's 2200
kbits/sec and it should be like 700
and it's got some weird compression artifacts in some parts too
like the top half of the video looks all pixelly
but the bottom half looks ok.
which is really weird...
you are using the regular MPEG4 compressor right?
because that might be why it's all pixelly/weird actually.
try 3ivx, it's the bomb.

Jan: "Was multi-tasking when I listened to her video, but it seems
to be that Maria intends to interview all family & friends. Did I hear
that right? I would like to hear from at least some outside her
immediate circle. Are there 'coyotes' ferrying illegals to the U.S.
there as in Mexico?"
Sull: "i dont think it is *very* important to nec have a wide
array of people... strangers.
terrific if she does get a mix of people she doesnt know, but in
truth, how relavent is it to the information and quality that will be
delivered? they are all people and all have a story and opinions. i
dont care if they are all friends and family..."
Michael: "I have a couple of
suggestions on improving that "pitch" video:
1. A couple of times Maria is pretty casual about who she will be
interviewing. She says it's not a rigorous academic study which is
totally fine but she kind of makes it seem like she's just
interviewing family or whoever happens to be in the room at the time.
It would be cool if she was a little more clear about how that will
work.
2. Let us hear something from one of the interviews that she's already
done. Let see and hear how cool this project is going to be."
