The success of HMWV depends on the relationship between the Creator, the Advocate, and the Community. The Advocate is the magic which lets the Creator know why the Community will be excited about the project...and lets the Community know why the project is so cool and should be funded. If everyone is honest and up front about the process, the work load should be very minimal.

______

1. The group agrees on a project. Someone is appointed the "advocate".

2.The Advocate works with the Creator to make a "video plea" (Example). The Advocate makes sure all the Deliverables are in order and clear. All expectations should be set.

3. The new Project goes public. We send out a email blast for pledges. We get people to blog about it. The Advocate must really keep on top of the progress so funding doesnt lose momentum. Remember that the Creator only gets the money if the ENTIRE goal is pledged.

4. Once the project is funded, the Advocate makes a "success!" video.

The Creator makes a "thank you" video and explains to the community how he/she will release the work (timeline/license/etc). We are simply reinforcing the expectations of the project.

5. The Advocate makes sure the Creator is posting videos/updates on time.

6. When the project is done, we need another "success" video. The Advocate must be writing brief notices to our subcription list.

7. For the ambitious, it would be great to have a video made after some time has passed...just to see how the project has spread throughout the web/community.
